The Guru College
MRTG Session at the Mac OS X Conference
Karl Byas and I presented on using SNMP and perl on Mac OS X Server to provide a comprehensive monitoring and managment system for the servers we run at the School of Architecture and Design at AUS. I finally have the needed tarball posted here for people to download, inspect and nit-pick – as that is the only acceptable way force a project to evolve in a positive direction.
This really needs to be considered a pre-release set of code for stability – and though it works for us – I can’t vouch for it not destroying your data, corrupting your RAIDs, making your coffee turn out really bitter in the morning or causing unsightly growths on your hands and face.
All that said, it should be enough to get the idea of what we’re doing here. I’m open to feedback, suggestions or help with cleaning up my code.
